With a passion for the advancement of obstetrical care, Dr. Gunatilake has been heavily involved with a variety of research initiatives. He has been a principal investigator in several clinical / translational research studies. These studies have helped him author significant publications in the following areas; fetal origins of adult cardiometabolic disease, maternal obesity, and critical care. In addition, Dr. Gunatilake has been honored to receive both biomedical research awards and faculty awards for medical student teaching.
