Dr. Randy Riehl, M.D., is a native of North Alabama raised in Huntsville, Alabama. He specializes in the fields of sports medicine, hip, knee, and shoulder pain, joint replacement, and hand surgery. He provides non-surgical and surgical treatments to meet your orthopaedic needs.
He began his education at Birmingham Southern College, where he played college soccer on scholarship and earned a physics degree. He then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine on an academic scholarship. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the internationally renowned Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN. He is the past President of the National Clinical Orthopaedic Society. He has board certifications in both orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. He specializes in delivering state-of-the-art sports medicine and upper/lower extremity musculoskeletal care utilizing advanced arthroscopic surgery, minimally invasive joint replacement, hand surgery, and complex fracture fixation. Dr. Randy Riehl, M.D., serves as the team physician for many of our area schools, including Decatur High School, and has been involved in many community projects in the Decatur Parks and Recreation Department and international medical mission trips.
Dr. Randy Riehl, M.D., is married and has two children. He is an active member of the Church of the Highlands and believes in compassionate and individualized care of his patients. His interests and hobbies include running, soccer, boating, sailing, and Jeep riding.
