Dr. Lais is fantastic. He cares about his patients and is very good at listening to you. I am from the east coast and fractured my tibia plateu while visiting Kansas last summer. Flew here to have him look at my leg and progress. Kansans are very lucky to have a surgeon of this caliber. If I had to break my leg, I am glad it was here and not back home!

He is the best doctor I have seen in a long time. He and his staff was very helpful and very friendly. He took the time to joke with me because I think he could see that I was scared. He listened to what I had to say and took it to heart to help me. He explain every thing down to what they was going to do in surgery and what would happen afterwards. I feel very comfortable with him as my doctor. If he was a general doctor I would have him as my pmcd in a heart beat.

Dr. Lais repaired my broken left hip 9/27/21. I don't remember meeting him at that time but met him yesterday, 11/5/21 for my follow-up appointment. I appreciated his explaining in simple English that I could understand what he'd done during my surgery. I mentioned my daughter in SC, when I asked him if I could have a copy of the x-rays for her, and he immediately remembered his conversation with her following my surgery. I figure she had asked him a bunch of questions -- I appreciated his remarks relating to that call. He gave me good advice -- "listen to your body -- when there is something going on you don't understand, check it out." I had been treating my "sciatic pain" in that left hip for 6 weeks only to find I didn't have sciatica at all, I had a spontaneous fracture happening. I will definitely contact him again if & whenever things begin to happen to me again, that I don't recognize. Thanks Dr. Lais. I'm glad you were on duty when I needed you most.

I'd give him 5 stars hands down but he tends to cut me off mid sentence a lot, which is a pet peeve of mine. He also is a man of very few words, so I have left there a little uncertain at times. Other than that he is extremely nice.

Funny guy! but he just came in said a few word and left! now the nurse she was GREAT!

Dr Lais is sympathetic to your situation & leaves minor decision to you! He’s a very exacting surgeon, I would not choose anyone else to do trauma surgery!

Dr worked me in but you would have thought I was his only patient. He listened to me without interrupting and actually answered most of my questions before I asked them. He never seemed like he was in a hurry to see his next patient. Great experience
