Dr. Ashta believes that medications are not the only solution to most common health problems in the modern society. Changes in lifestyle are equally, if not more important in managing and treating metabolic issues like obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and heart disease. This led her to obtaining certification from American Board of Obesity Medicine. She recognizes that treating the complex disease of obesity is much more nuanced than “eat less, move more.”
Dr. Ashta’s philosophy is treating the whole person. She helps her patients identify areas of improvement in their lifestyle, whether it is food, activity, stress, or sleep management. She utilizes medications when appropriate and keeps up to date on the latest advances and standards of care in her field. She is also an advocate for safely de-prescribing medications that are no longer necessary or may be causing side effects.

I've been seeing Dr.Ashta for years. When I walk in the lady at the front always greets me with a friendly smile and that makes my day brighter. The nurses are also friendly and treats me with respect. Dr Ashta cares a lot for her patients and she always takes time to really listen. Thank you and I will tell everyone to see you.
