Raj Patel, M.D.

Dr. Raj J. Patel, M.D., is an interventional cardiologist with advanced training in complex coronary intervention, cardiogenic shock management, and cardiovascular imaging.

His postgraduate medical training includes interventional cardiology at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, Massachusetts, a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, and an Internal Medicine Residency at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital – University of Illinois at Chicago. He earned his medical degree from Pramukhswami Medical College in Gujarat, India.

Dr. Patel is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He also has Level II training in Echocardiography and Cardiac CT and holds certification through the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Patel has an extensive academic background with multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international cardiovascular meetings. His research has included complex coronary intervention, cardiogenic shock, cardiac amyloidosis, arrhythmias, and cardiovascular outcomes.

Dr. Patel previously served as a Fellow-in-Training Representative for the Illinois Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography. He has also been recognized as ACP Illinois Resident of the Year and Resident of the Year at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital.
