Dr. Rahul Deshmukh is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, advanced arthroscopy, minimally invasive joint replacement and trauma. Dr. Deshmukh received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. During his time there, he served as the assistant physician for the Boston Celtics. As a Jacksonville native, Dr. Deshmukh is proud to bring his expertise as a nationally recognized orthopedic surgeon to his local community. He is the current Chief of Orthopedics and Director of Orthopedic Center of Excellence for St. Vincent’s Southside. He also serves as the team physician for the Jacksonville Icemen hockey team.
When he’s not in the office he enjoys many outdoor activities including windsurfing, skydiving, water skiing, sailing, and scuba diving. He also loves to travel the world and learn new languages; he’s currently proficient in Spanish, French, Marathi, and Hindi.

There is is no other orthopedic group in town that can provide you the kind of care you get at Southeastern. Dr Deshmukh is the most talented and knowledgeable doctor.
Excellent surgeon. This is my third time returning for different issues. Cannot recommend him highly enough! On a scale of 1-10, Dr. Desmukh is a 13!

Rahul has the best reputation in Jacksonville and surrounding areas. He is conservative when it come to surgery and recommended i do rehab to see how my shoulder responded. Ive had great results and rehab improved my strength and range of motion. Rahul is very friendly, courteous and takes time to listen to his patients. Jacksonville is so lucky to have such a great surgeon in our community!
Dr. Deshmukh went above and beyond to make sure I understood why I was experiencing pain in my shoulder and the approach he would use to resolve my issues.
Waited for well over an hour of my appointment time and then felt totally rushed through my time with the doctor. Very unsatisfied.
