A native of Oklahoma, Dr. Mercer received both her bachelor’s degree in biology and her medical degree from Texas Tech University. Dr. Mercer completed a one-year internship in internal medicine and a three-year residency in ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Mercer completed her formal medical training with a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Mercer is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Mercer is a wonderful ophthalmologist. She answers any questions you might have, she is very thorough, and excellent at her job. One of the best in Omaha, and C.B.
Rachel is a wonderful person she’s easy to talk to and very intelligent and understanding I’ve always enjoyed talking to her during my visit
After getting all my other tests run I sat for 45 minutes before I got to see Dr Mercer.
She did a nice job of explaining what is going on with my eyes and what we needed to do in order to address it.
Very helpful and professional.
