A native of Oklahoma, Dr. Mercer received both her bachelor’s degree in biology and her medical degree from Texas Tech University. Dr. Mercer completed a one-year internship in internal medicine and a three-year residency in ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Mercer completed her formal medical training with a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Mercer is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Mercer is an excellent provider who also is knowledgeable about women’s health issues and conditions leading to certain eye struggles. She is compassionate and an advocate for women’s health.
