A native of Oklahoma, Dr. Mercer received both her bachelor’s degree in biology and her medical degree from Texas Tech University. Dr. Mercer completed a one-year internship in internal medicine and a three-year residency in ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Mercer completed her formal medical training with a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Mercer is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

She’s a great doctor! If there’s any issue, it’s simply that she doesn’t take the time to communicate much. She’s in and out in less than 5 minutes. Doesn’t ask if there are any concerns, etc. But she’s a great doctor!
Very professional and immediately was able to pinpoint what my eye issue was about. I had been to 2 other doctors and had treatment that was completely ineffective. Dr Mercer figured it out in less than 10 minutes. The nurse was great, office staff very pleasant. Overall a good exoerience.
I've trusted Dr. Mercer with my sight for many years. Through all of my eye health issues, she has given my eyes their best. I trust, and highly recommend her for her compassion and knowledgeable care.
