R. Eric Hatley, MD

Early in life, even as a child growing up in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Dr. R. Eric Hatley knew that being a physician would be his lifelong ambition. Not wanting to wait, he pursued a Zoology degree from ASU Jonesboro, followed by medical school in Little Rock, which sealed his drive to pursue a career as a family physician. During his residency, Dr. Hatley wanted to give back to his childhood community. When the opportunity presented itself in Jonesboro, he knew it would provide a sound foundation of medical experience. For two years, he learned a tremendous amount about the realities of medical practice and caring for his Jonesboro patients.

When he learned of the needs and opportunities in El Dorado, it was an easy decision for Dr. Hatley to join SAMA in July 2001. He and his family were warmly welcomed, and he found the staff great to work with.

When not in the office or hospital, there is a high probability Dr. Hatley can be found enjoying time with his wife, Sarah, son Thomas, and daughter Miriam. If not at home, the chances of finding him may be slim because he’s probably in the Arkansas woods and streams, either hunting, fishing, or both!
