He saw me for some trauma to my hand and was always very up front with his opinions. He didn’t beat around the bush and sugar coat anything and gave his orders based on what he viewed I needed not just what I wanted.

Dr. R. Bryan Benafield Jr. was born in Fort Worth, TX, and grew up in Conway, AR. Dr. Benafield attended Hendrix College where he was an NAIA All American swimmer, graduating cum laude, With distinction in Biology. He obtained his MD from Vanderbilt University Medical School in Nashville, TN in 1994. After finishing his orthopaedic surgery residency at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, he then moved to San Francisco, CA where he completed a Hand Surgery fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center. He joined the clinic in 2000 and practices at both the Fayetteville and Bentonville clinics. His practice focus is hand and upper extremity surgery with a special interest in arthroscopic shoulder surgery. In his off time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda and their children.
