Was alittle concerned they could find any records of my visits before the 2024 one with Dr Curd and my nerve tests on my hand. . Also did not have anything of my Dr. Adler records.

I have always liked Dr Curd - could totally tell he had other things in his mind. I have seen him for years re: my right elbow, but today came in for my right shoulder. Didn’t ask at all how my elbow was doing- but was very quick to say - need two cortisone shots and then walked out saying to his fabulous nurse - ‘ it’s too loud in there, we need some kind of sound reduction on the walls’. Which I agree, - I did ask him to please repeat what exactly was wrong with my shoulder - so he do repeat again and then when he left Lori was so caring and said ‘this is how I have heard Dr Curd explain this in lay terms’ and then took the time to explain so I understood!

I did have to wait 35 minutes past my scheduled appointment time to be seen. Staff and Dr were great.

Excellent doctor! He was able to administer a treatment the same day as the diagnosis - love that! Didn’t need to make multiple appointments.

Very knowledgeable. Really works to figure out what is causing the pain.
From Dr. Curd As a kid, I was fascinated by medicine. A family friend was an OR nurse and suggested I volunteer at my local hospital. I thought I wanted to become an emergency room doctor, but in medical school, I found that I really enjoyed orthopedics and surgery the most. I like helping fix people from the start of their treatment to their final recovery. I feel like the luckiest guy alive. It is an overused axiom, but I actually get to get up everyday and go to work doing multiple things I love—therefore I have never worked a day in my life!
About Dr. Curd Dr. Curd chose orthopedic surgery because of the diversity it offers. In orthopedics, he sees everyone from newborn babies through grandparents and great grandparents and helps restore their functionality so that they can get back to what they enjoy doing.
His practice is focused on hand surgery, congenital hand reconstruction, and microvascular surgery, as well as upper extremity surgery and tissue transfer. He cares for injuries and deformities from the shoulder to the fingertip. He is a frequent lecturer and guest speaker on topics covering hand and upper extremity surgery. He has given lectures and performed surgery on five continents.
When Dr. Curd isn’t caring for his patients, he can be found on the sidelines as the Associate Team Physician for the Sioux Falls Stampede and Sioux Falls Canaries. He also enjoys playing the guitar, music, and athletic endeavors like rowing, cycling, hiking, snowboarding, scuba diving, and flying.
Dr. Curd has completed the Leadership Fellows Program (LFP) of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). He is the president elect of Physician Hospitals of America. Dr. Curd is a senator for the state of South Dakota. He immensely enjoys solving problems—putting together groups of people with very disparate and different ideas and finding a collaborative solution that all can support. He is involved in various community endeavors and boards.
