The reviews listed below were collected independently of Howard County Pediatrics through rater8. Each review represents an authentic and verified patient experience.
In addition to some questions with phrasing that felt judgmental, she made a strange comment about my daughter’s weight (“just try to ‘keep her’ in the xxth percentile and don’t let her xxxer than that”). My daughter has been consistently on the same curve since birth—she’s now just turned 5–and is physically active, strong, eats a variety of foods, and has no health concerns. If this is the kind of thing she says in a situation like ours, I am concerned about what kind of messages parents and children with actual health or weight concerns might get. It’s important to me that my daughter grows up with a healthier relationship and food and body image than I did and I don’t think such a focus on percentile alone is either helpful or necessary. We had already established that we offer a nutritious and varied diet and plenty of exercise, so unclear on how to “make sure” she stays at a certain percentile. Will not see this provider again. First issue ever in 8+ years @ this practice.

Priya Kasturirangan, M.D., ("Dr. K") brings a global perspective and deep compassion to her work as a board certified pediatrician. Originally from New Delhi, India, she earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree and began her medical career in Critical Care Medicine in Bangalore. After moving to the United States, she contributed to pediatric cancer research at Georgetown University, where she volunteered in the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department and the Innovation Center for Biomedical Informatics. She went on to complete her Pediatric Residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.
Dr. K’s clinical interests include care coordination for children with special health care needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and promoting children’s mental health. She is a strong advocate for health equity, gender-diverse youth, and inclusive, family-centered care. Her approach to medicine emphasizes evidence-based practice and the importance of the primary care medical home. We were thrilled to add her to our roster of clinicians starting in November 2025
Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. K is an avid supporter of music, art, and cultural enrichment. She has won the Reston Chalk Art Festival in the Amateur Artist category. A trained Indian classical vocalist, she also loves gardening, painting, and cheering on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. She speaks multiple languages, including Hindi, Urdu, and Tamil. She lives in Ellicott City with her husband and two school-aged children who attend Howard County Public Schools.
