Two girls at the front when I got checked in were really nice and very professional and then when they called me in, I’m happy that I had a good reception in there because I was able to finish watching one of my Golf videos and the Dr was super cool when he came in. I have three more appointments and hopefully they go smooth as this one did.

Dr. Pooya Banapour, M.D. is a general urologist and urologic oncologist who specializes in minimally invasive urologic surgery. Dr Banapour obtained his BS in Physiological Science at UCLA where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with departmental honors. He received his medical training at the UC San Diego School of Medicine where he developed an interest in surgery and academic urology. He completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at Kaiser Los Angeles Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident in urologic surgery in 2018-2019.
His attraction to advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgery led him to accomplish a fellowship in robotic urology and urologic oncology at the esteemed City of Hope Medical Center. He completed additional post-graduate training in reconstructive and female urology at City of Hope.
Dr. Banapour has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented at a variety of academic conferences. Throughout his training, he has been involved with humanitarian programs including performing pro bono surgery overseas with International Volunteers in Urology (IVUmed). Dr. Banapour specializes in robotic cancer surgery of the adrenal gland, kidney, bladder and prostate.
When not providing world class care for his patients, Dr. Banapour enjoys playing tennis and mountain biking.
