I'd just like more information as being treated. My most common treatment is a steroid injection. Other options?

Dr Fontenot will be doing my complete knee replacement in September- I feel very confident in his abilities especially after I needed to see him so he could drain excess fluid from my compensating PAINFUL other knee. He expertly gave me a steroid shot as well and the swelling and pain are now greatly reduced. He was very gentle and understanding. Lynne D.

Dr. Fontenot is an amazing doctor. The fact that he fixed a knee surgery that a different doctor screwed up should be enough of a selling point. But after that he has got me back hiking and golfing numerous times after different knee issues. He’s compassionate and focused. He’s the best.

Dr.Fontenot was friendly and very attentive

I found this provider arrogant, rough and discompassionate. When I asked him to please be more gentle with my injury, instead of softening his approach, he said “I am an examining you and this is how I do it.” He was 55 minutes late to a morning appointment with no acknowledgment. My guess is he gets by on charm, but does have access to the energy of a healer.

After years of hip pain, I finally decided to have hip replacement surgery shortly after turning 47. Dr. Fontenot was an excellent surgeon and a great communicator both pre and post op. I hope my other hip stays healthy for many years to come, but should I ever need surgery again, I will absolutely choose Dr. Fontenot.

I appreciated the doctor's honesty about a future surgery. I would like his office to contact me to determine when I can be put down on his schedule since I have to wait 3 months I'd like to have a definite date so I can make the necessary arrangements.

Only options he gave were to take a cortisone shot which may buy me a year of no pain while my knee worsens or half knee replacement. Why not full replacement now? Why wait for things to get worse? I can't follow the reasoning. I know it's my knee I can do what I want with it, but an extra added step in itself seems senseles aside from the point a shot of cortisone would worsen it more rapidly. Why half knee if later the other goes bad? What am I not seeing here?

Dr. Fontenot is great! I would give a 5 had I not had to wait 45 minutes in the lobby and another 20 minutes in the exam room!! My actual visit with Dr. Fontenot lasted 4 minutes.
