Dr. Peter P. Syre, M.D. has always been interested in the neurosciences and studied it extensively. Dr. Syre is passionate about volunteering. Before starting medical school, he had the opportunity to serve in the Peace Corps in South America. While in medical school, he became fascinated with the intricacies of the nervous system and the complex bioengineering involved in the anatomy of the brain and the spine. Dr. Syre feels the precise nature of neurosurgery is a very rewarding practice. Dr. Syre completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania where he pursued further fellowship training in the treatment of spinal disorders. He has a great interest in spinal scoliosis, spinal trauma, and tumors of the spine in addition to the breadth of neurosurgical diseases.
He believes that the key to exemplary neurosurgical treatment is patient centered care where each treatment is individualized and each patient is treated as a person, not a disease. With this mindset, patients can have the best outcomes possible and both he and his patients can accomplish their ultimate goal, regaining their life.
When not at work Dr. Syre loves to spend time with his wife and children, exploring and hiking all of the parks Colorado has to offer and riding his bike.

Great personality, He was very easy to talk to and his answers were honest and upfront. I was very happy with my visit.

Outstanding physician. He was my dad’s surgeon on two separate occasions. My visit with him yesterday was for spinal issues I am having. As always, he was professional and thorough and caring. I highly recommend him.

Very professional and was up on my medical problems right away. Sort of hit the ground running.
We were quite pleased with Dr Syre not so much with his staff who scheduled my surgery without checking that the other required Dr was available and didn’t let us know until 3 days before that it would have to be postponed. Even though I had asked more than once if the other Dr was going to be there. Not cool
Very god doctor
I was SHOCKED that he brought his dog into the exam room! I was there to discuss my future surgery and was not in the mood to coo over his rambunctious dog. He is an excellent surgeon, however, based on my past experience. Not everyone is a strange dog lover!
Such an excellent surgeon, and a very nice person. He really cares about his patients!!
