Hailing from San Antonio where he was born and raised, he completed medical school and residency at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. After graduation, he practiced general ophthalmology in rural Texas for four years, performing over 1,000 adult cataract surgeries. Although he loved treating adults, he felt drawn to pediatric care which led him to complete a pediatric fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Throughout his studies and training, he has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles on various ophthalmic topics. In 2021, he and his family made the move to New York with their winter clothes in tow so that he could join our practice.
When he is not busy at work, Dr. Ness enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, eating lots of food, and looking for new kinds of cuisine to try. To counteract all of the eating, he likes to hike and play tennis. In the process of having four kids, he’s also developed an enthusiastic taste for coffee. He seeks to love God and his neighbor in everything that he does.

My son has been a patient of Dr. Ness for years, he has an unusual set of opthalmic needs due to his neurological condition. We've experienced nothing but the very best care and thoughtful guidance from Dr. Ness.
An incredibly thorough provider, I am happy to make the 2.5 hour trip to see him because my daughter will get the best treatment there is. If I could give more stars I would.
