My first appointment experience with Dr Looby was very pleasant. Dr Looby provided a history of my arthritis condition and also inquired what I was experiencing. Very professional and personable to have a conversation about my condition and diagnosis. Dr Looby is close to my age so we seemed to connect with our values and principles. I appreciated the way he offered me the decision for the type of care for me to make a informed decision. Dr Looby is a very respectful person both in how he carried himself and also in how he communicated with me. These types of things are all part of what it takes to have a good treatment outcome. Thank you Dr Looby!

Nice guy. Good bedside manner (coming from an old man) I liked him.
From Dr. Looby It seems like a career in medicine has always been my destiny. My grandfather and great grandfather were small town physicians in South Dakota and my dad was a practicing OB/GYN in Sioux Falls. As a youth, I suffered three broken arms from various injuries and then blew out two knees playing football that required surgery. So I guess my interest in orthopedics was inspired by first-hand experience. I will be honored to serve you and your family for their sports medicine and knee and shoulder reconstruction needs.

After graduating from Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, Dr. Looby received two Bachelor’s degrees from Stanford University. While completing his fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, he was the team orthopedic surgeon for the New England Patriots football team, the Boston Bruins hockey team, the New England Revolution soccer team, and the Harvard University sports teams. He holds a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
While their two children are busy pursuing higher education, Dr. Looby and his wife enjoy a healthy lifestyle with time in the gym, traveling, and on the golf course. They are active in supporting local charities and political advocacy.
