Dr. Howard treats the full spectrum of disorders affecting joints, cartilage, and ligaments. His special interests include joint preservation surgery, misalignment of the patella, shoulder injuries, shoulder replacement, hip tendon and ligament injuries, fracture care, sports injuries such as ACL tears, and biologic treatments.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). Dr. Howard is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons (ABOS). Dr. Howard stays up to date on the newest treatment options so that he can provide the latest treatments to his patients. He is a consultant for ConMed Corporation, helping engineers and designers of medical devices make their products better for patients.
Dr. Howard’s treatment philosophy is to try to exhaust all non-surgical options before considering surgery. He works with his patients to educate and explain their condition so that they can fully understand their treatment options. If surgery is a choice made by the patient, he believes in being with the patient through their full course of surgery and recovery. He also works closely with the physical and occupational therapists that care for his patients.
In his spare time, Dr. Howard enjoys spending quality time with his wife and caring for his five children. He enjoys fishing, boating, and cooking for his family.

Had surgery. Went well. Other drs.wouldnt listen to me about pain in arm/ hand. They said it was neck. He did ,did surgery and found more damage than thought. Always get. Second opinion. So glad I did. Thanks Dr. Howard for listening to me.

He did not pay attention to the CT scan and took an x-ray and only talked about the arthritis in my knee instead of the true reason for my appointment. He didn’t even discuss the imaging findings.
