Dr. Peter Fail joined the CIS as an interventional cardiologist in 1996. Dr. Fail is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Physicians, and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.

Dr. Peter Fail joined the CIS as an interventional cardiologist in 1996. He began his studies at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida where he earned his undergraduate degree in zoology. He completed his medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean in Montserrat, British West Indies.
In addition to an internship and residency in internal medicine, Dr. Fail also served as chief fellow in interventional cardiology at the Episcopal Heart Institute in Philadelphia. He later became director of the institute's cardiac catheterization laboratory. Dr. Fail was also a clinical assistant professor of medicine at both Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine and the Allegheny Health Science School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Fail is the co-director of the structural heart program at Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) in Houma and works closely alongside area cardiovascular surgeons as part of a comprehensive “heart team” to perform interventional procedures for structural defects and complex aortic disorders. Additionally, Dr. Fail has served as the principle investigator and sub-investigator for numerous research trials piloting cutting-edge, innovative research devices to treat a multitude of conditions in the structural arena.
Dr. Fail is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is level -three certified in cardiovascular computed tomography (CT) by the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. Dr. Fail is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Physicians, and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Louisiana State Medical Society, the International Society of Endovascular Specialists and the Society for Vascular Medicine. He has written and co-authored numerous research papers and abstracts, several of which are considered landmark. He also has penned multiple book chapters and given a wealth of presentations in his specialty.
