Peter D. Vizzi, M.D.

Dr. Peter Vizzi is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over 25 years of experience as an orthopedic physician. He specializes in total joint replacement including ROSA for robotic knee replacement, arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, and general orthopedic care. His practice encompasses a wide range of orthopedic and sports injuries including arthritic conditions, athletic injuries, and broken bones/fracture care.

Dr. Vizzi merged his practice with Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists in March of 2021 in order to provide Acadiana with a more comprehensive network of Orthopedic care. He attended Loyola University and received his M.D. from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his residency in the Orlando Regional Healthcare System in Orthopedic surgery after an internship in general surgery within the same hospital system. He has published research papers in Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedic basic sciences.

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association, and the Louisiana State Medical Society, among other professional associations. Dr. Vizzi holds the distinction of being one of the team physicians for the Ragin’ Cajun Athletic Health Care Alliance and the Sports Care Network for Acadiana area high school athletics. Dr. Vizzi has been an avid sports fan and participant since childhood and still competes today. Through his participation, he has gained a deep understanding of sports injuries and the implications they have on daily life.
