Raised in the Lone Star state, Dr. Shanley stayed close to home when she chose to study at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. But it wasn’t long before the adventurous spirit bestowed upon her by a fun-loving, motorcycle-riding family led Dr. Shanley to join us in the Last Frontier.
Once in Alaska, Dr. Shanley joined the Alaska Family Medicine Residency. It was working at AKFMR that she developed a focus in women’s health, social medicine, and addiction health care. She also holds the designation of Aviation Medical Examiner and performs FAA Class I, II, and III flight physicals.
In her personal time, Dr. Shanley takes advantage of her new home by taking long hikes with her family. When at home, she enjoys quilting so she has a blanket to pull over her eyes when watching her favorite scary movies.
