Dr. Paul E. Dato, M.D. a native of San Diego, received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1980 from University of California at San Diego. He was graduated from Tulane University in 1984 with his medical degree.
Dr. Dato’s internship was performed at the University of California at Davis from 1984 to 1985 and his residency in Urology at Oakland Naval Hospital from 1987 to 1991. He completed 25 years of active service in the US Navy, retiring in 2005 at the rank of Captain.
He joined a private practice in La Mesa California which joined other practices in forming Genesis Healthcare Partners in 2011.
Since 2014 his duties have included Director for Clinical Trials, and he currently serves as Director for Medical Quality and Director of the Prostate Cancer Center. Dr. Dato is Certified by the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Dato is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Dato is always patient and thorough and explains everything with great detail.
I have been a patient of Dr. Dato for several years. he is a credit to his profession. Anyone who has an opportunity to be involved with Dr. Dato should be considered very fortunate to have him as their physician. He takes all the time that is necessary to discuss your case. He is very knowledgeable and understanding of your concerns and lays out a plan to deal with your circumstances and treatment.
