Paul N. Andrews, M.D.

Dr. Paul Nielsen Andrews, M.D. specializes in advanced interventional spine procedures, including spinal cord stimulator trials and implantation, basivertebral nerve ablation, kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty and peripheral nerve stimulator implantation. He also provides platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) injections, as well as other conventional interventional spine procedures under fluoroscopy and ultrasound, including transforaminal and interlaminar epidural steroid injections, facet injections, medial branch blocks and radiofrequency ablation.

While completing his undergraduate degree, Dr. Andrews was an NCAA All-American football player and team captain at Davidson College. He later lived for two years in Beijing, China, and worked as a sports marketing coordinator during the Beijing Olympics. He was awarded for Excellence in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation while at UNC Medical School. Following an internship at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, he did his residency at Carolinas Rehabilitation in Charlotte, NC, focusing on Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He then completed an Interventional Spine Fellowship at Emory University.

Dr. Andrews is a native of Hillsborough, NC, and is pleased to serve his community at UNC-Cary Orthopaedics. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and retired racing greyhound, exploring the Triangle, BBQing, exercising and watching sports.
