Dr. Patrick McVey, M.D., is a board-certified Pediatrician and a proud Utah native with deep family roots in Spanish Fork. He believes that a pediatrician’s role is to partner with families, acting as an advisor and resource to empower them in making informed decisions about their child’s health and development. He emphasizes truly listening to a family’s needs as a key element for creating holistic treatment plans.
He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and then attended Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. With a strong desire to serve his country, Dr. McVey joined the United States Navy as a Medical Officer. He completed his Pediatric Residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, where he also completed his internship. Following residency, he served as a staff pediatrician at Naval Hospital Lemoore in California and subsequently at Naval Hospital Rota in Southern Spain. Having left active duty, he looks forward to serving the Spanish Fork community.
Dr. McVey's travels and diverse experiences have led him to practice in various settings, from state-of-the-art medical centers to more humble community hospitals. The constant joy in his work has been the opportunity to collaborate with families and witness their children's growth. He enjoys the full scope of pediatric care, with specific areas of interest including Asthma, Allergy, ADHD, and mental health.
He holds numerous certifications beyond his board certification, including NRP Program Director, PALS Program Director, STABLE Lead Instructor, ACLS Certified, and BLS Certified. He maintains affiliations with the American Academy of Pediatrics, where he is also a Fellow.
The greatest blessings in Dr. McVey’s life are his wife and four children. Together, they have shared many wonderful adventures traveling the world, creating countless memories. Observing his children learn and grow through life's challenges has profoundly influenced him, helping him become a better person, parent, and pediatrician.
