He earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State before attending Drexel University for medical school. Dr. Mattern completed his residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, followed by a sports medicine fellowship with Dr. James Andrews at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Florida, where he supported the Auburn University football players.
His approach to sports medicine is centered on understanding that many people experience musculoskeletal issues at various stages of life—whether playing high school sports, enjoying recreational activities, or staying active as adults. Dr. Mattern is committed to helping his patients return to peak performance and achieve their personal health goals.
