Dr. Vaughan has been practicing orthopedic surgery in the South Sound for over 15 years. He is the medical director and team orthopedic surgeon for the Tacoma Rainiers (AAA franchise of the Seattle Mariners), and provides sports medicine coverage for Gig Harbor High School. He is the current team orthopedic surgeon for the University of Puget Sound and has worked with all of the school’s varsity sports teams for over a dozen years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 2001-2005 at the Naval Hospital Pensacola as an orthopedic surgeon.
He enjoys outdoor activities, such as hiking, skiing, and golf, spending time with his family, and playing sports with his two teenagers.

Attentive, professional, skilled surgeon. Dr. Vaughan is a veteran who understands why my knees are (were) so bad. He has a sense of humor that helps during a stressful process. Oh yeah…the results are a big reason for the highest rating.
I had a knee replacement surgery on my right knee with Dr. Vaughan in 2019. The recovery went well and I have been walking regularly since. My left knee is giving me trouble and Dr. Vaughan has done a series of synvist shos about every nine months. These injections have aloowed me to keep active whcih is essential for an 80 yr old. Dr. Vaughan is always knowledge
Highly recommend Dr. Vaughn Dr. Patrick Vaughn has taken care of both of my knees: a meniscus repair on one and an ACL reconstruction on the other. After 30+ years of recreational soccer, I'm now dealing with the wear and tear that comes with it, and he's still the one I trust to guide me through it. He's extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain what's going on and why he's recommending a particular approach. I never feel rushed, and he always makes sure I'm comfortable with the treatment plan before we move forward. He's great to work with, and I'd recommend him to any athlete, weekend warrior or otherwise, dealing with knee issues.
