A native Oregonian, Dr. Patrick Denard has been voted one of the top 20 shoulder surgeons in North America and is the most widely published shoulder specialist in Oregon. Dr. Denard has advanced arthroscopy training and is able to perform the vast majority of shoulder procedures in a minimally invasive fashion, including all types of rotator cuff repairs and instability repair. These techniques allow him to repair tears that some consider “irreparable.” In addition, he performs anatomic and reverse shoulder replacements for shoulder arthritis.
"I am inspired by helping people get back to doing the things they enjoy."
In addition to his position at Southern Oregon Orthopedics, Dr. Denard is an instructor at Oregon Health & Science University and is the Director of Shoulder and Sports Medicine at Providence Medford. He continues to participate in research, presenting this nationally and internationally and regularly instructs other orthopedists at courses on the shoulder. He is also the co-author of a textbook on shoulder surgery: “The Cowboy’s Companion: A Trail Guide for the Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgeon” (get it on Amazon), which provides step-by-step instructions for orthopedic surgeons performing shoulder arthroscopy.
"I love being a shoulder specialist and have had the pleasure of taking care of people with a variety of shoulder problems from all over Southern Oregon and Northern California. I want to provide the highest level of shoulder care possible for my patients. I stay up-to-date on the latest research so that my patients get the best that is currently available in shoulder care. Whether through nonoperative means or surgery, my goal is to help my patients understand their condition and get them using their shoulder again. If you have shoulder pain, we will work together to the best of our ability to make you better."

Dr. Denard was very professional, yet approachable. He explained the diagnostic findings and presented all the options to enable me to make an informed decision about treatment. He clearly outlined the recovery time and how it would effect my daily life and work.
He is a great Doctor...
He was in and out didn't spend 3 minutes with me. Said everything in place. When do I get my $100.00 ?
When he explained what was going to happen, he made sure we understood. He seems confident and straight forward. 👍
Dr Denard is an excellent surgeon, very informative about everything he can do for his patients. Highly recommended him if anyone needs to have any kind of shoulder procedure.
Awesome
Great Dr
he's personable and expert with shoulders...gives one enough time to answer questions. I respect that it's important for him to treat the whole person...instructing to take vitamins, cautions protecting newly operated arm, he values research.
Dr. Denard is an outstanding shoulder specialist. He was very thorough. Dr. Denard reviewed my records in a timely manner, performed appropriate diagnostics and inoffice testing: ROM ect and provided options to treat my injuries: discussing in detail each option and course of treatment and plan of care. I felt cared for and that he was interested in my health and wellbeing. Thank you Dr. Denard for being so thorough and for showing you care.
