A native Oregonian, Dr. Patrick Denard has been voted one of the top 20 shoulder surgeons in North America and is the most widely published shoulder specialist in Oregon. Dr. Denard has advanced arthroscopy training and is able to perform the vast majority of shoulder procedures in a minimally invasive fashion, including all types of rotator cuff repairs and instability repair. These techniques allow him to repair tears that some consider “irreparable.” In addition, he performs anatomic and reverse shoulder replacements for shoulder arthritis.
"I am inspired by helping people get back to doing the things they enjoy."
In addition to his position at Southern Oregon Orthopedics, Dr. Denard is an instructor at Oregon Health & Science University and is the Director of Shoulder and Sports Medicine at Providence Medford. He continues to participate in research, presenting this nationally and internationally and regularly instructs other orthopedists at courses on the shoulder. He is also the co-author of a textbook on shoulder surgery: “The Cowboy’s Companion: A Trail Guide for the Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgeon” (get it on Amazon), which provides step-by-step instructions for orthopedic surgeons performing shoulder arthroscopy.
"I love being a shoulder specialist and have had the pleasure of taking care of people with a variety of shoulder problems from all over Southern Oregon and Northern California. I want to provide the highest level of shoulder care possible for my patients. I stay up-to-date on the latest research so that my patients get the best that is currently available in shoulder care. Whether through nonoperative means or surgery, my goal is to help my patients understand their condition and get them using their shoulder again. If you have shoulder pain, we will work together to the best of our ability to make you better."

Great communicator, answered all of my questions, explained medical suggestions and let me decide how he should proceed.
Professional, answered all qustions. Explained procedures. Overall a very good experience with the visit
Is an excellent surgeon and tells you like it is. He wanted to do a reverse shoulder on me, but I explained I played tennis so he said he’d do his best job on the rotator cuff.
Very pleased with visit. Excited to get my shoulder fixed!
Dr. Denard was very direct, no sugar coating, and right to the point. He gave me a down to earth explanation in layman’s terms. It was a short visit, and he made me feel very comfortable with the outcome of the procedure. Louis Jeandin

My 2nd surgery with him. As before, took his time answering my questions. Wouldn't have anyone else to do my surgery.
