A native Oregonian, Dr. Patrick Denard has been voted one of the top 20 shoulder surgeons in North America and is the most widely published shoulder specialist in Oregon. Dr. Denard has advanced arthroscopy training and is able to perform the vast majority of shoulder procedures in a minimally invasive fashion, including all types of rotator cuff repairs and instability repair. These techniques allow him to repair tears that some consider “irreparable.” In addition, he performs anatomic and reverse shoulder replacements for shoulder arthritis.

In addition to his position at Southern Oregon Orthopedics, Dr. Denard is an instructor at Oregon Health & Science University and is the Director of Shoulder and Sports Medicine at Providence Medford. He continues to participate in research, presenting this nationally and internationally and regularly instructs other orthopedists at courses on the shoulder. He is also the co-author of a textbook on shoulder surgery: “The Cowboy’s Companion: A Trail Guide for the Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgeon” (get it on Amazon), which provides step-by-step instructions for orthopedic surgeons performing shoulder arthroscopy.

Wow!!! Dr Denard isn’t just an EXCELLENT DOCTOR, he really cares about his patients. I feel so blessed that he did my surgery!! I really put my trust in him, and it totally paid off.

Just that it takes a very long time to get an appointment.
I tell everyone I can that it’s so essential to choose a surgeon who is experienced and frequently performs the surgery you need. Dr Denard is excellent and his practice is well run making it easy to work with him at a distance. We drove four hours, stayed at a nice hotel near the surgery center, I had the surgery in the am and then my h drove us back. The experience since has been equally smooth and my recovery at 6 months seems about 95%. I’m back to 75% of my pre-surgery lifts and with no pain which is amazing. 🤩
