A native Oregonian, Dr. Patrick Denard has been voted one of the top 20 shoulder surgeons in North America and is the most widely published shoulder specialist in Oregon. Dr. Denard has advanced arthroscopy training and is able to perform the vast majority of shoulder procedures in a minimally invasive fashion, including all types of rotator cuff repairs and instability repair. These techniques allow him to repair tears that some consider “irreparable.” In addition, he performs anatomic and reverse shoulder replacements for shoulder arthritis.
"I am inspired by helping people get back to doing the things they enjoy."
In addition to his position at Southern Oregon Orthopedics, Dr. Denard is an instructor at Oregon Health & Science University and is the Director of Shoulder and Sports Medicine at Providence Medford. He continues to participate in research, presenting this nationally and internationally and regularly instructs other orthopedists at courses on the shoulder. He is also the co-author of a textbook on shoulder surgery: “The Cowboy’s Companion: A Trail Guide for the Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgeon” (get it on Amazon), which provides step-by-step instructions for orthopedic surgeons performing shoulder arthroscopy.
"I love being a shoulder specialist and have had the pleasure of taking care of people with a variety of shoulder problems from all over Southern Oregon and Northern California. I want to provide the highest level of shoulder care possible for my patients. I stay up-to-date on the latest research so that my patients get the best that is currently available in shoulder care. Whether through nonoperative means or surgery, my goal is to help my patients understand their condition and get them using their shoulder again. If you have shoulder pain, we will work together to the best of our ability to make you better."

Did a wonderful job the team was helpful. I do have more damage from a traumatic injury. Wish they were the ones to follow it all through.
Very professional
Very professional & thorough! I had a reverse shoulder replacement last October & am thrilled to get my other one this coming October! I had superb recovery, my pain level was never more than a one & I never had to take the heavy drugs! I believe this was all due to his expertise & speed in surgery! Thank you so much Dr. Denard!
Outstanding care. Personal follow up very appreciated. Pre-surgery team also excellent. Professional yet personal care all around. Very grateful.
Dr. Denard was very helpful in a telehealth appointment to review shoulder replacements. It sounded good so I scheduled an appointment.
Dr Denard was very informative and answered questions In a relaxed Way. He appeared to be very knowledgeable. I intend to go forward w my shoulder replacement with Dr denard
Precise!
Dr. Denard was very thorough and he gave me non-surgical options to improve my shoulder. He also explained how my X-rays showed that my injury wasn’t too serious. I truly appreciate a physician who doesn’t force a surgery.
I heard he’s fantastic so I’m going to trust my friends
Professional, kind, takes time to answer questions!
