Orlando Lopez, M.D.

Dr. Orlando Lopez became an original member of the Urology of Greater Atlanta team in 2004. Loyal to the Greater Atlanta area, Dr. Lopez has been in private practice as a urologist since 1988. With experience and training in urologic oncology, Dr. Lopez is one of the top-rated surgeons in his field.

He received his MD from Emory State University in Atlanta and performed his surgical residency there. After completing his residency, he served his urology residency at the same location before becoming Chief Resident across the network of Emory University Affiliated Hospitals.

Soon after, Dr. Lopez served as Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Henry Medical Center in Stockbridge, Georgia, where he was soon named Chief of Surgery. Dr. Lopez is a cherished member of the American Board of Urology, the American Urological Association, and the American College of Surgeons. He’s been certified by the American Board of Urology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He currently serves on the Leadership Committee at Piedmont Henry Hospital. He is a member of the Henry County Board of Health. He volunteers at the Henry County Hands of Hope Clinic.

Over the years, Dr. Lopez has presented at the American Urological Association in both New Orleans and in Anaheim, California. He’s also been published in several medical journals, sharing his knowledge among fellow doctors in the field of urology.

Dr. Lopez’s history of serving Metro Atlanta continues to be one of the most rewarding experiences of his career. He walks in the footsteps of his father, Orlando O. Lopez, MD. So his family has done urology in the community for about 50 years.
