Dr. Noreen Shaikh, M.D., is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellowship-trained retina surgeon. She earned her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College and completed her ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center. After pursuing a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Beth Israel Lahey Health, she now specializes in all diseases of the retina and vitreous, including diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.

She is committed to providing excellent care to her patients and treating each individual with compassion. She specializes in all diseases of the retina and vitreous, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, retinal detachments, and dislocated lenses.
Dr. Shaikh graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University. She then earned her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, where she served as class president. She completed a preliminary internship at Overlook Medical Center before completing her ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center. During residency, she gained extensive experience in complex eye diseases. She pursued further specialization in vitreoretinal surgery at Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts, where she trained in the latest clinical and surgical advances in retina care. She also participated in the training of ophthalmology residents from Harvard Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, and Tufts Medical Center/New England Eye Center.
Dr. Shaikh is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and Women in Ophthalmology. She has been involved in research on macular degeneration and retinal detachment, has contributed to multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, and has presented at national meetings.
Born and raised in New York, Dr. Shaikh is thrilled to be settled in New Jersey with her husband and two children. Outside of work, she enjoys tennis, traveling, and board games with friends.
