Dr. Nicholas Talluri is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacement. He received formal education at Washington & Lee University where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Biology. He then traveled to Chicago, IL where he received his master's in biomedical sciences followed by his medical degree from Chicago Medical School. During medical school, Dr. Talluri graduated with honors and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) society. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine within the largest medical complex in the world, the Texas Medical Center. During residency, his research interests included assessing sources of intra-operative infections/contaminations as well as prosthetic hip replacement outcomes. During his chief year in residency, he pursued a traveling fellowship in Switzerland where he was exposed to novel hip and knee surgeries. Post-residency, Dr. Talluri received formal training in hip & knee replacement after completing an adult reconstruction fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida. His fellowship training focused on innovative techniques shown to offer patients accelerated recovery including direct anterior, muscle-sparing approaches to hip replacements as well as robotic-assisted total knee replacements.
His other passions include swimming, skiing, travel, as well as spending time with his family and dog.

Dr Talluri is a Dr I would recommend to others without hesitation. He spends time with you and listens to your concerns. He also answers questions in terms that you can understand.
Along with being a talented surgeon, Dr. Talluri takes the time to listen to his patients in formulating the best care plan.

Dr. Talluri is the best Orthopedist I’ve ever gone to and I have been having to go to Orthopedists since I was injured as a 17 year old in 1980. He has performed two complete knee replacements on me and I see a hip replacement in the future. After the knee replacementsI had no problems recovering at all, physical therapy was no fun but that’s to be expected. He’s totally professional while being very approachable, kind, and the best Orthopedic surgeon in all of Sarasota!!
My initial visit with Dr Talluri - he listened and did not make assumptions. The Dr was thorough in his explanation of my options and seemed to want me to make the decision that was right for me
