Dr. J. Nicholas Rachel completed his undergraduate degree at the University of South Alabama before receiving his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile. Following his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Rachel went on to receive advanced fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery.
As a board-certified pediatric and adult hand and upper extremity surgeon, Dr. Rachel’s practice focuses on the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow injuries and conditions.
Dr. Rachel is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. When he’s not seeing patients, he enjoys golfing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

Loved how he got me all fixed up! Should have saw him first instead of urgent care and suffering but I had to have a referral for insurance

He was very thorough and explained my options very clearly. He took his time making sure he addressed my concerns and needs.
Dr. Rachel was super kind and diagnosed me right away. He also made sure that I was comfortable since I was nervous. I would highly recommend Dr. Rachel. I hope I don’t have to return but if I do, I’d choose him again.
