Neil C. Romero, MD is a fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon, specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery, arthroplasty including artificial disc replacement, and cervical and lumbar spine surgery.
Dr. Romero has cared for patients at Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists since 2009. He completed his orthopedic spine surgery fellowship training at Stanford University. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Romero completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he graduated summa cum laude.
Dr. Romero is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS).

Dr was very thorough and put himself in my ahoes and confirmed the surgery was most advantageous in my condition This is my 5 th surgery with him and I would not change for anything He is a true humanitarian

Doctor Romero and staff gave me my life back! After years of worsening back pain decided to have the tlif surgery he suggested. While it was and is a long recovery process 4 months out I already feel better than I have in years. I tried all other procedures and options with zero to little relief that was only temporary. Would definitely recommend if you are finally at the point of surgical intervention. Thank you Dr Romero and team!
