Dr. Naveed Iqbal, M.D.

Dr. Naveed Iqbal, M.D., is an Interventional Cardiologist with Heart Care Centers of Illinois. He is skilled in performing cardiac catheterizations, with percutaneous interventions from the radial approach (wrist). He performs interventions of all aspects of peripheral vascular disease and is also trained in structural heart disease including TAVR (Percutaneous Aortic Valve Replacement). His interests include the most up to date techniques and advances in procedures relating to interventional cardiology, including intravascular ultrasound and intra cardiac imaging.

He also performs Echocardiography interpretation, Trans-esophageal Echocardiography, and Nuclear Stress tests.

Dr. Iqbal completed his residency training at Wright State University in Dayton, OH where he was a recipient of numerous awards including the Barrett H. Bolton Humanism Award for his dedication to the wellbeing of patients and their families. Upon completion of his residency, he joined the physician staff of the Heart and Vascular Institute at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH. There he cared for complex cardiac patients as well as becoming an extensive author and researcher, presenting and publishing his findings at numerous national meetings and journals including the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Iqbal completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, WV where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow and was recognized by the Department of Cardiology for his excellence in teaching. Following Cardiology fellowship, Dr. Iqbal pursued further training in the sub-specialty of Interventional Cardiology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH where he was trained in all aspects of coronary, structural and peripheral vascular disease interventions.

Dr. Iqbal is a native of Illinois and is married and has three children. He enjoys spending time with family, playing tennis and reading books.

Dr. Iqbal is board certified by the American Board of Internal medicine and subspecialties in Interventional Cardiology, General Cardiology and a current Diplomate of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
