Dr. Parker has been a very professional and compassionate physician. One thing I appreciate most is that he listens to my health concerns. When I explain symptoms, he takes the time to understand and does not dismiss what I’m experiencing. That level of respect makes a big difference when navigating my healthcare. I feel heard and supported, which is something every patient hopes for in a doctor.

He takes the time to sit down, explain everything thoroughly, and never once makes you feel rushed. You leave actually understanding your health. That's rare and so appreciated.

Dr. Nathaniel Parker, D.O. received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Touro University in Vallejo, California and completed his residency at UC Davis affiliated Mercy Medical Center in Redding, California. He is ABFM (American Board of Family Medicine) board certified.
Dr. Parker says he has always been drawn to medicine as it is the perfect intersection of science and human interaction. It allows him to work with something that fascinates him (the human body/mind) while helping people directly in their day-to-day lives.
His passion for medicine is fueled by his ability to empower patients to take control of their health and healthcare. As a primary care provider, he wants to educate people, not only on how to avoid unhealthy or poor health outcomes but also to maximize their quality of life. He sees it as truly caring for patients, not just treating diseases. Dr. Parker believes that primary care providers must respect patients by engaging them in their care plan, addressing their physical needs as well as their mental health needs – while delivering quality patient experiences, and delivering patient-centered care.
Working at an FQHC allows him to aid individuals who are, unfortunately, overlooked by our country’s healthcare system. He believes healthcare is a right and working at a community health center allows him to put that belief into action.
He wants to see patients actively engaged in their healthcare decisions. Using a shared decision-making model, patients are generally more invested in their health and more aware of potential outcomes. Believing in dignity, respect, information sharing, participation, collaboration, and holistic medicine – he strives to treat the mind, body, and spirit.
Outside of work he enjoys skiing, live music (both performing and experiencing), international travel, exploring local restaurants, hiking/camping, and ethnomusicology (the study of music in its social and cultural contexts).
