From an early age, Dr. Nathan Plaskett, M.D.'s hands were at the piano keys. A gifted musician, he spent years pursuing classical piano before realizing that his true calling lay not on the stage, but in service to others. Guided by a lifelong love of science and an innate sense of empathy, he shifted his focus from music to medicine — trading concert halls for clinic rooms to help people live healthier lives. He chose family medicine because of its breadth and variety. “No other specialty gives you the same scope of practice,” he says.

“The doctor-patient relationship is the foundation for quality care,” he says. “Developing that mutual respect and trust is so important.” Patients like that he takes the time to fully explain their health in clear, compassionate terms. Patient education is a pivotal part of the process.
Dr. Plaskett enjoys working as part of a team at Vanguard. You’ll find him both in the office and doing rounds for Vanguard patients at the hospital. “This is an extension of the care that our patients receive in the office,” he explains. “Continuity of care is so important.”
Outside the office, Dr. Plaskett’s lifelong love of music continues — and these days he’s just as likely to be repairing a piano as playing one. He’s also learning guitar and is a dedicated martial arts enthusiast, who has volunteered for the Bruce Lee Foundation.

good person he wants to help people
Explained everything well and listened to me
Dr. Plaskett came across as casual and somewhat disengaged in comparison to my previous primary care doctors. He kept eye contact but I didn’t perceive as much curiosity nor depth in his responses.
I would like to receive a call about this incident today. The service that I received today was unacceptable. Nathan came in the room and when he asked what I was there for I mentioned the TWO things I called for I have a cold since Friday + Backpain. he rushed me and told me I was there for a cold and that he only had 15 MINS! I was taken back by the lack of professionalism, compassion that this office has provided to me and my family since 1995! He checked my breathing and the nastiness was still there, telling me in a sarcastic tone how to say Ahh, how to deep breath when After telling him that he was making me feel uncomfortable he said to complain to the front desk. Never apologized for his behavior or time he has towards me. If the receptionist didn't communicate what I was there for this is not my responsibility. I am the paying patient and we deserve to be respected. Hope he gets some personal skill-compassion training because the way I was treated was unethical!
very friendly and helpful
Great listener. I truly felt that I was heard. I would definitely recommend him.
Answers questions and took care of my issue
It felt like he was reprimanding me instead of hearing me. Also, mentioned restraints rather than solutions.
Wonderful
He takes his time He listens And he tries to come up with the results for you I like it very much
