Nathan Laufer, MD, CM, FACC

Dr. Nathan Laufer, M.D., is a board-certified cardiologist and internationally recognized leader in heart and vascular care. As the Founder & Medical Director of the Heart & Vascular Center of Arizona, he has dedicated his career to advancing treatments for heart disease and helping patients achieve better cardiovascular health. Dr. Laufer’s specialties include interventional cardiology, cardiac catheterization, and cutting-edge procedures like coronary stenting, peripheral vascular diagnosis and intervention, and carotid stenting.

He obtained his medical degree from McGill University and advanced training from the University of Toronto and the University of Michigan, where he remained on faculty prior to arriving in Phoenix. Therefore, Dr. Laufer brings a wealth of expertise to his practice.

Over the years, he has led numerous clinical trials, contributing to groundbreaking advancements in diagnosing and treating heart disease. His commitment to innovation has earned him multiple prestigious awards, including recognition as a “Top Doc” by Phoenix Magazine for over two decades.

When he’s not in the clinic or cath lab, Dr. Laufer shares his expertise with the community. He has served as President of the Phoenix Board of the American Heart Association, President of the Maricopa County Medical Association and President of the Arizona Medical Association.

Dr. Laufer was the founder and medical director of the interventional cardiology fellowship program at Banner University Medical Center-Phoenix, a position he held for 15 years. He is also the founder of the Cardiac Cath Labs of Phoenix and continues to serve as its medical director.
