Dr. Nathan Jia, M.D., recently joined the team at Advanced Orthopedic Center and specializes in Sports Medicine. He earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. Then he went on to complete his Residency at New York University Langone Health in Orthopedic Surgery. He finally went on to complete his fellowship at Mississippi Sports Medicine, in Jackson Mississippi.
Dr. Jia provides both surgical and non-surgical care for patients of all ages and activity levels. While he has specialized training in treating athletes, he also focuses on helping individuals with shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee pain, whether caused by sports, work, or everyday wear and tear. His approach emphasizes restoring mobility and function for everyone from competitive athletes to “everyday athletes” looking to stay active and pain-free.
Outside of work, he enjoys watching football and basketball and has a creative interest in videography. He is also fluent in Mandarin. Dr. Jia will be seeing patients at both our Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte office locations.

Dr. Jia is the best orthopedic doctor I’ve ever had! Coming from the military, I’ve seen quite a few and he by far surpasses all of them. He has the best bedside manner and you can tell genuinely cares and takes the time to explain things to you. I had the same surgery on my right knee 3 years ago with a different doctor and my healing and everything else are much better this time around.
He is a fantastic asset to the practice! He listens intently and advises accordingly. He makes me feel heard!
Awesome personality and professional attitude.
A very nice visit. Didnt push for surgery or more shots. Explained the probable tendons causing the problem and how therapy would help. I advised that my co-pay was $50 per visit. He explained how at least a couple visits would help. He put me at ease every step of the way. Like a real partner in my care. Love this kid! If he needs a local grandma, sign me up!

Dr. Jia is a pleasure. From surgery, hospital stay and office visits he has been wonderful to deal with. His staff gets a five star as well.
