A native of Nebraska, Dr. Thomsen earned her bachelor of science degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She earned her doctorate of optometry degree from the Pacific University College of Optometry in 2023. During her optometric education, Dr. Thomsen completed externships at Eye Care Group of Southern Oregon in Grants Pass, Oregon, Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Tacoma, Washington and IHS Bethel in Bethel, Alaska. After completing optometry school, Dr. Thomsen spent an additional year completing a residency in ocular disease at the Providence VA Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

Excellent listener to my concerns and needs
She was knowledgeable, professional yet compassionate and friendly. She helped me immensely when I had a problem with my eye and gave me antibiotic drops. I was very thankful they were able to get me in the same day as it was an emergency. Will be going back for my yearly eye exam too
