A native of Nebraska, Dr. Thomsen earned her bachelor of science degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She earned her doctorate of optometry degree from the Pacific University College of Optometry in 2023. During her optometric education, Dr. Thomsen completed externships at Eye Care Group of Southern Oregon in Grants Pass, Oregon, Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Tacoma, Washington and IHS Bethel in Bethel, Alaska. After completing optometry school, Dr. Thomsen spent an additional year completing a residency in ocular disease at the Providence VA Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

Dr Thomsen showed great empathy during my visit and was comforting during my visit. She was sure to explain everything to be sure I understood everything. Love this group!!
Doctor is very efficient and pleasant. I would really like it if all my doctors would communicate with each other to give more holistic treatment. For example, if I have headaches, does that have something to do with my eyes?
