Morad Chughtai, MD

Dr. Morad Chughtai is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand, upper extremity, and microvascular surgery. He received his sub-specialty training at the University of Florida, College of Medicine, and orthopaedic surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic.

Before starting his Orthopaedic Surgery residency, Dr. Chughtai engaged in extensive clinical research spanning various specialties: Hand and Upper Extremity surgery, Orthopaedic surgery, Robotics, surgical and medical technology, pharmaceuticals, infectious diseases, neurosurgery, cardiovascular diseases, among many others.

His Research work had gained recognition at the local, national and international levels. Among his 200+ research endeavors, numerous have been published in in authoritative Journals such as Lancet; and have been cited in major public consumer publications such as Yahoo and Wikipedia.

His most exciting research endeavor was through a mission trip to Guinea, in West Africa, during the peak of the Ebola epidemic in 2014. From this endeavor, he has published several articles, and even a book about the Ebola virus disease. He has since continued with his interests and expertise in global infectious disease and had co-authored an additional book about the Zika virus, in addition to publishing about COVID-19 and its impact on orthopedic surgical training.

Dr. Chughtai has published on and had directly authored to new and emerging surgical techniques that have not been described before. In addition, he has helped either develop, or evaluated clinical outcomes of surgical technologies utilizing artificial intelligence and robotics.

Outside of his career, Dr. Chughtai spends his spare time with his family. He has interests in emerging technologies, innovation, autonomous systems, aerospace & astronomical science, boxing, and mixed martial arts.
