Dr. Mogana Ashar, D.O. originally from Yonkers, New York, became interested in the field of medicine as a child. She grew up very close to her grandmother who suffered from Chronic Pain so throughout the progression of her disease, Dr. Ashar was used to the many different treatment modalities ranging from exercises, dietary changes, medications, injections, and eventually minimally invasive spinal surgery. Witnessing these areas of treatment has driven her to apply the same principles into her Interventional and Integrative Pain Practice at OAA.

Dr. Ashar attended medical school at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine and then went on to complete her residency program in Interventional Pain Medicine at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
Dr. Ashar will be joining OAA as an Interventional Pain Provider treating pain from Head to Toe including neck, back, abdominal, and pelvic pain along with post operative and joint related pain. Dr. Ashar has always had strong family roots in the Lehigh Valley, so she is excited to join OAA and the “close knit community feel” that the practice brings to the area. She truly enjoys seeing progress, improvement and growth in her patients and works to restore quality of life for all patients.
In her free time Dr. Ashar enjoys hiking, taking road trips to national parks, learning about different cultures and spending time with family, friends, and her cat. She also practices yoga regularly as she was a former yoga instructor as well.
Dr Ashar listened to my concerns and was able to pinpoint the problems that I have been having. She is an excellent communicator and I'm looking forward to
The more I come the more understanding she is and tries everything to help me with my pain
Great
Dr. Asher got right to work by listening to what was happening with me, ordering the right imaging, and coming up with a plan. For once, I am excited about the possibility of living pain free after years of doctors dismissing me!
Dr Ashar helped me when no one could 54 years I felt with my back and she is the only one that did anything. Thank you so much
Dr Ashar was very attentive and provided multiple options to pursue
She was rude and unkind…. Made my 17 year old daughter and me feel as if she thought we were making up my daughter’s pain. Why would we do that?? She showed no compassion and disregarded our input completely. She said she couldn’t help us, but offered no suggestions as to where else to go. She also didn’t seem familiar with crps…. Even calling it by the wrong name once. She was robotic and seemed to quote a textbook definition of crps, but wouldn’t elaborate when we told her CHOP and other doctors confirmed my daughter’s diagnosis. Even if there was nothing she could do for us, she could have handled things a 1000 times better. Let me finish by saying that with my daughter’s health issues, we’ve seen so many doctors in the last five years. I have NEVER written a poor review before, but this doctor deserves it. It was the WORST encounter we’ve ever had with a physician. We will not be returning.
Dr. Ashar listens carefully, offers curative or palliative recommendations, and suggests follow up. OAA should be proud to have her!
She was absolutely wonderful and such a big help! Dr. Ashar made sure that I truly understood everything she was describing about my back problems and provided the best possible recommendations for treatment. She was so sweet and beyond helpful, I would 100% go back to her if need be!
Listens and explains things very well.
