Dr. Mitesh Shah is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. During his nephrology fellowship at Georgetown University, Dr. Shah also spent time training at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C. There, he was able to care for patients at a specialized hypertension clinic, managing those with difficult to control blood pressure. Training at Georgetown also helped Dr. Shah develop his passion for kidney transplant management and critical care nephrology. Other interests of his include chronic kidney disease along with home dialysis therapies. Board certified in both internal medicine and nephrology, he joined Metropolitan Nephrology in 2017, and is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his daughter, along with traveling, and playing various recreational sports. He is also fluent in Gujarati.

Dr.Shah and his staff are extremely attentive. I always experience a bit of anxiety, whenever I visit any doctor. With Dr. Shah, once I am there in his office, it doesn’t take long before I feel comfortable, due to the professional and very cordial interaction with everyone in the office. Dr.Shah is patient and thorough in answering any questions that I or my supportive spouse may have.
