Dr. Mitchell Oberhelman, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2017, and A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2022. He subsequently completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Missouri in 2026.
Driven by a lifelong fascination with the human body and human reproduction, Dr. Oberhelman solidified his commitment to OBGYN during medical school after assisting with a 2 AM delivery for a patient he had seen just hours earlier—an experience that highlighted the deep reward of bringing new life into the world. In his practice, he finds the greatest joy in collaborating closely with patients to help them understand their health, solve troubling medical issues, and achieve optimal well-being.
As a physician entering practice post-residency, Dr. Oberhelman is eager to integrate into the community and deliver exceptional care utilizing his training. Outside of medicine, he is devoted to his family, sharing his life with his wife—a perinatal and trauma therapist—and their two active children. In his free time, he stays busy with a wide range of hobbies, including hiking, fishing, boating, snowboarding, home DIY projects, cooking, gardening, woodworking, and playing musical instruments.
