Dr. Ta is committed to volunteering her medical expertise to those in need. Since 2006, she has performed free vision screenings for athletes who compete in the Special Olympics. She has also participated in fundraising and community service projects for Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. She also hopes to participate in an international medical mission trip in the future.
Dr. Ta met her husband, Alan, while they both attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. After finishing school, they happily returned to the West Coast. They enjoy being able to support each other professionally and personally. As outdoor enthusiasts, the couple likes to hike, bike and camp. Dr. Ta’s indoor interests include reading a good mystery or page-turner and cooking. And she puts a high priority on spending time with her husband and extended family. Dr. Mindy Ta was named one of Portland’s Top Doctors in 2024 by Portland Monthly Magazine.
