We have been seeing Dr. Ranka for a few years now. My daughters are all neurodiverse. He has been nothing but amazing with them. I will never think to take them any where else. The doctor was highly engaging during the first part of the exam and made my child very eased from the start. He also gave me a very practical and concrete idea to try at home to help his vision. At the post-dilation exam, the doctor seemed rushed to finish (and perhaps) move on to another appointment as I could see a difference in interaction. I asked a few questions and his responses seemed curt and a bit vague. I would have appreciated hearing a diagnosis and the science behind why my son's eyes were the way they were along with a clear plan on treatment. At the end of the appointment, it was up to me to put these pieces together.

You get in and then out, This doctor Ranka is fast and I think address all the concerns. We left Dr Campeliterro's office due to the rude staff and the 3 hour wait, even at 7:30 a.m. first appointment. Dr Ranka thought the prescription was to severe for my 3 year old and that he might not want to wear his glasses if the prescription makes the eye work to hard. So we are giving a lesser prescription to see if he will wear his glasses more. Hopefully now we will need the eye patch less.

Dr. Ranka graduated from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency and pediatric ophthalmology & strabismus surgery fellowship at New York University Medical Center and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. Dr. Ranka is a co-author on numerous journal articles and presentations at national meetings.
