Miguel A. Palacios, M.D. is a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician, servant leader, dedicated to caring for his patients. A Texas native, from Round Rock, he graduated medical school from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico, completed a pre-internship at New York Medical College, and moved to San Antonio in 2014 to pursue residency training at UT Health San Antonio, where he has since called San Antonio home.

Throughout his residency, Dr. Palacios earned several accolades, including the 2nd-year Resident Recognition Award, the Excellence in Clinical Geriatrics award, and the Advanced Primary Care award.
Dr. Palacios has a passion for preventative medicine, behavioral health, ambulatory procedures, and caring for the underserved. He also shares a passion for teaching the next generation of family physicians. He was a core faculty member for the UT Health San Antonio Family and Community Medicine Residency program, during which time he received multiple awards, such as the Academy of Educational Scholars STAR Educator award, the Outstanding Clinic Based Teacher Award, and the Family Medicine Clerkship Preceptor of the year. Dr. Palacios was appointed Medical Director of the Physician Assistant Studies department at the UT Health San Antonio School of Health Professions in 2024 and is an adjunct Associate Professor for the UT Health San Antonio department of Family and Community Medicine.
He is well accomplished and committed to serving the community. In 2021, he was appointed to the SA Collaboration for Equitable Health, a coalition working to improve health outcomes for underserved minority populations. He was honored in 2023 as a community “Access Pillar” for his efforts in improving healthcare access and addressing food insecurities. It’s evident that Dr. Palacios cares for his patients Como Familia, Like Family, saying, “Gonzaba Medical Group caters to a patient population that I can deeply relate to. This environment allows me to foster meaningful relationships with my patients and deliver them the best care possible”.
Outside of his professional life, he enjoys spending time outdoors, working on home improvement projects, and cherishing moments with his family, saying, “My wife Maria and three children Santiago, Mariel, and Abigail are my greatest joys”.
