Dr. Michal Szczodry is an orthopedic specialist who graduated from Medical University of Warsaw, Poland, where he was a recipient of numerous awards, including meritbased yearly scholarship. He then moved to the United States and completed research fellowship in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Pittsburgh. Later, he entered Orthopaedic Residency at University of Illinois at Chicago where he was elected to serve as administrative chief resident and nominated to American Orthopaedic Association Leadership Forum. Upon graduation from University of Illinois, he completed subspecialty training in spine at world renown Johns Hopkins University. Specifically, during his fellowship, he focused on complex spine disorders and surgical spine reconstruction in adults and children.
Dr. Szczodry, specializes in surgical and non-surgical treatment of spine conditions affecting cervical, thoracic and lumbar areas, including spine deformities, disc degeneration, spinal stenosis, failed spine surgeries, infections and tumors. He continues to be involved in research and attends national and international conferences. Dr. Szczodry holds Assistant Professor title at University of Illinois and serves there as Associate Residency Program Director in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
