Michael A. Sirota, MD, is a board-certified physician in San Diego specializing in orthopaedic sports medicine, trauma, and orthopaedic surgery. He brings extensive training and clinical experience to San Diego Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center, Inc.
Dr. Sirota believes every patient he sees is an athlete who must navigate the obstacle course of life, and that both the Olympian and the everyday athlete deserve outstanding medical care. Dr. Sirota offers a range of nonsurgical therapeutic options and is also an expert surgeon with advanced training in arthroscopic surgical techniques.
A native of Brookline, Massachusetts, Dr. Sirota graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He went on to graduate with honors from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Dr. Sirota completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. During his time in Maryland, he applied his clinical expertise to the evaluation of new orthopaedic implants and technologies while serving as a medical officer at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Following his residency, Dr. Sirota completed a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania, where he was privileged to provide sideline coverage for Penn State’s Division I sports teams.
Dr. Sirota is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
