Dr. Michael L. Salamon, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, specializes in foot and ankle reconstruction, arthroscopy, sports medicine, minimally invasive joint replacement, ACL and meniscus surgery, and treatment of knee, shoulder, hand, and wrist injuries. He also focuses on joint preservation, cartilage replacement, and fracture care for both adults and children. With over 17 years of experience, Dr. Salamon has been a key member of Ellis & Badenhausen Orthopaedics since 2008.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Salamon serves as a clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he has been honored with the Teacher of the Year award. He has also contributed to the University of Louisville Jewish Hospital Healthcare Services Board and has served as the team physician for the University of Louisville Men’s Soccer team.
Dr. Salamon is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the Kentucky Orthopaedic Society. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. He completed his general surgical internship and orthopedic residency at the University of California, Davis, followed by a fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction and sports medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
