I have been a patient of Dr. Michael Gomez for two years and have always appreciated his excellent care, which is why I was disappointed by my June 8 appointment.
Although I arrived 15 minutes early, I waited nearly two hours without being informed of the delay. Better communication would have been appreciated.
There was also confusion at check-out, which caused an unnecessary wait.
I share these concerns because I value Dr. Gomez’s care and hope communication and time management can be improved for future patients.

Dr. Michael Gomez has several areas of interest and expertise His primary interest is in minimally invasive urologic surgery. During his residency at the University of Toledo Department of Urology and Renal Transplantation, Dr. Gomez had extensive training in laparoscopic donor nephrectomy for living related renal transplants. Dr. Gomez did additional training at Henry Ford Hospital in robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery for both kidney and prostate cancer. With this added expertise Dr. Gomez is able to use minimally invasive robotic procedures to address other urologic issues such as ureteral strictures, renal collecting system abnormalities, and female pelvic prolapse.
Dr. Gomez also enjoys caring for male and female patients with voiding complaints. He has several treatment options, both medical and surgical, to address overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, and voiding difficulties from enlarged prostates.
Male health issues are also important to Dr. Gomez. In addition to addressing voiding issues from enlarged prostates, Dr. Gomez has several options to address low libido and erectile dysfunction. Dr. Gomez will work with you to find the right approach for each situation.
As a Chicago native and University of Chicago alumni, Dr. Gomez has planted deep roots in the Chicago area. He is looking forward to establishing a long and meaningful patient-physician relationship which is the center of any effort to achieve better urologic health.
