Following his undergraduate studies at Brown University in Maryland, Dr. Roh attended Brown University School of Medicine where he completed his studies as Valedictorian and received his medical degree. Dr. Roh continued his training through an orthopaedic surgery residency at New York Orthopaedic Hospital, Columbia University in New York. He pursued additional, specialized advanced training with a spinal surgery fellowship from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri – considered by many to be among the best training programs for spine surgery in the United States.
Today, Dr. Roh holds special expertise in cervical spine surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and the treatment of complex spine conditions. In his practice, Dr. Roh offers patients both compassion and perfectionism. He recognizes that anxiety and fear often accompany spinal disorders and he focuses on addressing the emotional as well as the physical aspects of his patients’ care. Dr. Roh maintains skills in the latest advancements and technologies in spinal care, and if surgical intervention is called for, he offers the solution that offers the highest probability of success.
Dr. Roh has served as a lecturer and trainer for orthopedic surgeons around the country on innovative disc replacement, deformity surgery, and advanced minimally-invasive techniques. He serves as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, and is a member of and committee co-chair for the Scoliosis Research Society. When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Roh enjoys skiing, golf, and tennis, but most importantly, enjoying time and making memories with his wife and three children.
